SAN FRANCESCO DE ASSISI -PATRON SAINT FOR OCTOBER -SF Giants has a Patron Saint

San Francisco Named for San Francesco de Assisi Feast is October 4. OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF SAN FRANCISCO.

San Francesco de Assisi Feast Day is on October. The International Feast of Animals is also held in October in his honor
San Francisco, CA is named after San Francisco of Assisi.

 

 

October 4 was the Feast of St . Francisco De Assisi. No way was the San Francisco Giants going to lose . The churches celebrate his feast by telling the parishioners to bring their pets and animals so the priest can bless them.

 

 

St. Louis of the Cardinals is also a Saint but his feast is on August 26th. If the

San Francisco Giants  go post-season . Watch out. OCTOBER IS MONTH OF SAN FRANCISCO.

 

 

His friends are animals and he can talk to animals according to legend. He tamed the ferocious wolf of Gubbio. in 2012, the SF Giants swept the Detroit Tiger/ Tigers are ferocious animals.

 

 

SF Giants have players  nicknamed as the Panda, the Giraffe, and the Moose.

 

 

Kansas City Royals are not not named after Kings or Queens or royalty but after cows. Kansas has a billion dollar industry in livestock  as in cows. They hold barbecue contests.

 

 

Cows are animals and San Francisco can talk to animals because they are his friends.

 

October 13 - Our Lady of Fatima Feast

October is the Month of the Holy Rosary

Dancing with the Sun. The story tells on October 13 how Our Lady of Fatima demoed her miracle with the Sun coming down from the sky whirling to different colors of light , sparks of blue and silvery flecks. The Dancing Sun dried up the land that was previously soaked with rain and mud.

Thanks to the Feast of Our Lady of the Fatima I was able to create two paintings  about the Day the Sun Danced. when Our Lady of Fatima showed her miracle to the residents of Portugal at Fatima.
The Sun dance with multiple colors and dried up the land that was soaked with rain for the unbelievers to believed.

San Francisco leads game one , 1-0 with Madbum on the mound. Sportscasters called him the Best Pitcher int he World among all time great.

The Line-up Offense  of Bochy  showed up: Panda's doubles, Blanco lead-off hits, Posey's basehit,Panik triple. It was non-stop hit after hit.

GIANT ENERGY FORCES 2014

Of Course, the SF Giants team is bundled up with lots of talent, support and know how. It was an uphill battle for the SF Giants in 2014 . Nobody handed them the World Series Berth on a platter. They fought and clawed their way to earn their spot

In 2010 - I wrote a Poem "October is In Love With the Impossible - Giants Won World Series.
In 2012- I exhibited a  logo piece  for SF Giants World Series Champs at Kalligraphia 13  from June 2012 to August 2013 at the San Francisco Public Library Skylight Gallery. - the Giants Won the World Series.

I didn't write anything in 2011 nor created anything in 2013.  So my friends say eliz you better do something artistic for the SF Giants this year .

The month of May the SF Giants had the best record in baseball but they start faltering starting June, July. So I thought what would be a good design for 2014. Hmm how about energy forces zigzagging in the Universe to help assist my favorite baseball thing.

So the GIANT ENERGY FORCES piece was  created to signal the forces of the Universe going in crazy directions to generate electrical, magnetic, photonic energies and particles to soar them into the magical arena.

But as I watched the SF Giants fall behind the LA Dodgers, it seemed that my crazy chaotic orange energy are going nowhere.  The Dodgers became the Division Champions, it seemed this Energy Forces design doesn't seem to work.

But wait, there was still hope, the SF Giants was a wildcard team. Hope is still up with one stressful round of sudden elimination. MadBum showed 8-0 shutout. Then another obstacles - the team had to face the NATIONALS number one winningest team in MLB.  The Giant Forces are in action; the team survived 18 rounds of extra innings. Wild pitches were thrown and REI (RUN ERROR IN) was fashionably chic.  On Game 4, the SF Giants won again with Mr. LoveSong or Vogelsong, supported by a strong bullpen .  On my team marched to face the last year World Series Natioal League Champions, St Louis Cardinals who chopped the Dodgers into elimination. In Game 5 Travis Ishikawa homer brought home the bacon trophy  - SF Giants won the pennant and off they're going to the World Series again . Three Time for the Last Five Years, Every Even Year.

The Dodgers are now scratching their heads, how on earth did the second placed SF Giants in the NLWest division surpass the champions.

I want to say the Energy Chaotic Magical Forces are working the Giants favor.

The SF Giants has been on a losing streak for June against the Nationals, Rockies, the White Sox, and  on the verge of  a sweep by the Padres.

The last nine days of June is  a novena week for Our Lady of Perpetual Help. whose Feast or Fiesta lands on June 27. I pray the novena to the Our Lady for a petition. I usually pray for peace, good health, jobs for people who don't have one, healing for the sick,...

Today I inserted a petition, can Our Lady of Perpetual Help please help Timmy on the mound today so the SF Giants can win?

Yes , Our Lady of Perpetual Help pitch in a real help. Timmy  had a no-hitter for the second time in the row.  The pitcher  after the  2010 Worlf Series championship showed the ups and downs of his pitching expertise. On June 25, 2014,  Lincecum allowed only a walk in an otherwise perfect game . His opposing pitcher Kennedy was no match in today's game. The Freak showed his old vintage form and spectacularly  knocked out two basehits. The ATT Park sold out crowd turned into a frenzy crazy applause.

Two: Cy Young awards, World Series ring, no-hitter game. Two, Two, Two. Congratulations Timmy  may you be on your way to a three no-hitter and three World Series ring.

Pope John Paul II's Small Miracle Before He Was Saint : God Sent in a Secret Service Agent to let me in the Press Room

Billions of people are happy that John Paul II is now a saint. I'm one of those people. Happy the Pope I'd written about years ago has become a saint. The  short anecdote is about how God sends in angels to help. This story God sends a Secret Service Agent to let me in the Press Room.

John Paul II visited the Bay Area in 1987

When God wants you to be somewhere, even when human beings blocked you, believe me you're going to be there.  Pope John Paul was in the Bay Area to perform mass at Candlestick for the millions of Catholics in the Bay Area in 1987. Each parish is allotted a certain ticket. My parents and I got tickets to see the Pope John Paul II. Seventy thousands people were at Candlestick to celebrate mass with the Pope.  At that time, I was selected to be the Editor of the Blue & Gold,a newsletter for the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and also for the Archconfraternity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help of which I later became President. In 1987, I checked out that the members of the Archconfraternity totaled around 13 million in the world. Reverend Antonio Rey , Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish & Canon Lawyer of the Archdiocese of San Francisco appointed me as editor of the  Blue & Gold to write activities of the parish, Legion of Mary and the Archconfraternity. As editor of Blue & Gold , I'd written on the Archbishop John R. Quinn, Bishop Daniel Walsh, and Cardinal Jaime Sin. The only one I'd not written on was the Pope.

Protected inside his popemobile, the Pope had a city tour around San Francisco Streets during the week . Vendors selling popcorn said, "Popecorn! Popecorn!"  I got close to the popemobile, the Pope smiled & waved his hand at me. Resplendent in his white robe, the pope dazzled in light, something sparkling amidst particles of photons like a holy object would. I told myself, a sign of how holy people emanate light ; the way angels surround themselves with light when they appear to humans. Pope has an aura of spectacular light, oozing of love,calmness, peace, prayer.

The little miracle came when the Pope said mass in Candlestick. I arrived together with other parishioners in a bus ; I didn't bring any driver's license with me. My friend sister Bebs was a choir member singing that day. Sr. Bebs auditioned to be in the choir and was accepted by the committee.  Being editor I went to the media room  where the press are sitting. The press room had direct view of the Pope. However as I started to get inside the press room , there were two tall women who asked for my PRESS credentials. I said I didn't have any but I was editor of the Blue & Gold of the Archconfratenity of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. They said you can't be  in the Press room unless you have Press credentials or badge. Then they asked  me if I'd any other id like a driver's license. I didn't bring any id or driver's license. I wanted to write an article on the pope for a magazine, newsletter and plus my own Blue & Gold newsletter. Guess what , I didn't get in and I was left standing alone in the hallway. 

God sensed that I really wanted to write about the Pope. This was indelibly written in my memory.
When a door closes, God opens a window but if the window is still closed. GOD sends in a SECRET SERVICE AGENT. Feeling like a reject, I was left standing on the hallway, outside the Press Room. In a few minutes, a  man in black suit with a badge holding  a walkie-talkie on his hand shouted at me,"WHAT ARE YOU DOING STANDING OUTSIDE THIS HALL? WE'RE DOING SECURITY, ON AIR , ON GROUND, INSIDE THIS BUILDING?"
He stared at me, "EVERYONE AT THIS TIME  SHOULD BE SEATED DOWN BEFORE THE POPE APPEARS ."  The Pope was about to appear in three to five minutes anytime to say mass on the grounds of Candlestick
He escorted me  inside the Press Room and said to me, "Sit down and take a seat."  The two women who didn't  want to let me in  look puzzled from afar and thought , "That lady whom we turned away must be really important.Look she's being escorted in by a Secret Service  Agent." What they didn't know was the Secret Service Agent was doing a security check on halls  and as he said, "Nobody should be standing around in the hallways. Take a seat and sit down." The Press Room guards couldn't turn away a Secret Service  Agent. When Pope John Paul appeared, the crowd chanted , "JOHN PAUL II, WE LOVE YOU!"

The outcome : I was able to write a one page and a half page article at Phil News(Alex Esclamado editor & Ed Diokno features editor).Yeah,  almost two pages about the Pope. I'd previously written to the Pope about a message for my Blue & Gold and I received  his message on Christmas "DEUS CARITAS EST" (God is Love) and a postcard signed not as John Paul II but as Joannes Paulus II.
I also incorporated his message in the Blue & Gold for parishioners ,Archconfratentity Members .
Sr Iluminada Bite taught the Legion of Mary how to sing "Totus Tuus"(Totally Yours) the Pope's motto. Even up to now I know how to hum , "Totuus Tuus Ego Sum, Regina Mea Mea Mater". This is Marian loyalty and fidelity.

The article,postcard, the Pope mass booklet are in the attic box somewhere. I'd to search for them one of these days. I prayed to saints who were dead for a long time. Pope John Paul II was a personal experience = seeing and writing about a Pope who became a saint.

First, I must confess I'm not a boxing fan. However when Manny Pacquiao emerged into the boxing scene.I became interested not on his boxing skills or his great left and right hooks but Manny Pacquiao as a person. He's not one you can ignore.  Pacquiao or Pacman is the number one pound for pound superstar with  eight belts to his credit from different weight divisions..

With so many accolades like Boxer of the Decade, 100 most Influential People and an elected Congressman of the Philippines, Pacquiao's heart is with the poor people and the underdogs of the world because he knows what it is be an underdog. His list of kind-hearted actions are enormous:
giving a down payment for a house of his sparring partner, giving people sacks of rice and food lining outside his mansion, giving capital to the fisherman's boats , giving up his pay in endorsement in ex-change for ambulances in his province, plus a lot more published in several media.  Pacman was right in the middle of the typhoon Haiyan  in a tent , lending out his support for food and prayers. No wonder people around the world love him.

Everytime he fights I light up a candle to pray that he would somehow emerged as fine not necessarily as a winner but his uniqueness as a boxer and as a human being rises to what a person should be. Long before  "Tebowing"  became a buzz, Pacquiao has been going to his corner to kneel and pray before and after his fight.

The time he got knocked down by Marquez, it was a December 8th , the feast of the Immaculate
Conception, I forgot to light a candle because I thought the Virgin Mary was protecting him. But news spread Pacquaio is no longer Catholic but a born-again Christian but it doesn't matter for God can be Allah, Budhha, or in the person of Jesus.

A great character in any story or novel is one who is confronted with conflicts, drama, ups and down and the ability of the hero to rise from ashes and recover back his greatness. A hero who doesn't suffer defeats is not good for  novels or  movies , it would be a boring movie. So if Floyd Mayweather thinks that having a zero unbeaten record makes him a great hero character - well, he's in for a surprise. A heart who is giving a straight line with no ups or downs is known in the medical world as a  'flatliner', no life. So it's ok to  go down once in a while and come back again to regain your title like what PacMan has done in the Rios & Bradley fight .

Congratulations PacMan, you're more than boxing. PacMan provides inspiration to the downtrodden, to the poor people, to rise up once again after being down. When his mother Dionisia reminds him tosave his money for his own good, he replies, "After all, you CANNOT bring Money to Heaven.".
Floyd Mayweather on the  Youtube scenarios are about counting his millions which is fine.
Floyd is very entertaining on that sense about money . Floyd is about boxing and money only.
 Pacman on the other hand is MORE THAN BOXING- he's about HOPE, LOVE, PATIENCE,
FRIENDSHIP, THOUGHFULNESS,SHARING , all the goodies you'd like to see in a role model.

San Francisco : Patron Saint of Animals, World Animals Day

The 49'ers secret weapon or the 12th man is right in front of the 49ers name : San Francisco, the Patron Saint of Animals.  The city of San Francisco is named after the miraculous San Francesco de
Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order, a missionary organization to spread the gospel and help the poor.

The 12th man of the Seahawks  thrive on noise. San Francisco has a prayer for Peace not cacophony of screaming your lungs out: Meditation, calm and quietness.

Seahawks fans fly banners on helicopters and atop the Space Needle building, make rallies, put signs and placards on stores and restaurants, shout and make noises.  San Francisco is everywhere around the world where people celebrate the World Animals Day, Feast of Animals.
On his Feast, people bring their pets to be blessed on October 3. Though invisible he's everywhere in the Universe and constellations.

Seahawks have a running back "Beast Mode". San Francisco as a Patron Saint of Animals can talk and converse with any animals on earth. Legend has it that San Francisco TAMED a FEROCIOUS
beast, known as the Wolf of Gubbio who terrorized the entire town and its residents by eating livestock and assaulted folks. No weapons can penetrate the ferocious beast . When San Francisco heard about this beast , he sought him out and talked to him. The town folks were surprised that the wolf sat at San Francisco's feet like a tamed household pet. The beast since then never terrorized the town and the residents left food at their doorsteps for him.
Meanwhile San Francisco has a running back named  #21 Frank (Francesco in English) Gore.

The Seahawks or Osprey are birds. San Francisco has a famous prayer and story about the birds. He said a prayer SERMON TO THE BIRDS.   I meditated on this prayer when the Seahawks visited Candlestick(not when the 49ers played at Century Link)  and they won. When 49ers played in Arizona, the Cardinals listened to San Francisco's sermon to the birds. When the 49ers played the Carolina Panthers, the wildcats were tamed. The only time in the playoff that made me nervous were the Green Packers, after all the 49ers had trouble winning there and they pack cheese. But cheese are made from milk and milk came from cows.

Even the current Pope Francis, Time Man of the Year  selected San Francisco as his namesake because San Francesco de Assisi cared for the poor.
